Bankruptcy filings, both personal and business, have soared in Ohio and Kentucky over the past year, with more of the same likely in the months ahead.
Total filings are up 20 percent in Ohio for the year ending June 30, according to data compiled by the Center for Economic Analysis and Development at Northern Kentucky University.
The figures put Ohio among the nation’s top 10 for bankruptcy filings per 1,000 residents, according to U.S. courts data compiled by the center.
