There have been a rash of cases lately where pro se people are being denied summarily for failure to have the correct birth certificate in the adjustment packet. It’s pretty sad (and mean) for USCIS to deny cases and take people’s filing fees to the tune of $1225 and then not let them fix simple omissions like a failure to include the proper form of birth certificate (in one case, the entire adjustment was denied at the lock box because the couple put a Canadian short form birth certificate in the packet instead of a long form).
